We understand that some sites have asked whether ETO can once again flag duplicate pack submissions.
We originally restricted sites from entering multiple deliveries of the same pack to reduce unintentional duplicate submissions. When this restriction was in place, ETO displayed the message “the maximum amount of submissions for this answer has been reached” and would block the touchpoint from being saved.
While this did reduce accidental duplicates, it also caused significant issues because some sites need to record:
- Home Visits taking place over multiple days where the same pack is used
- Gathering deliveries where the same pack is intentionally delivered more than once
- Planned repeat deliveries for families who require additional support with the same pack.
Because these scenarios are legitimate and important parts of the HIPPY delivery model, we reinstated the ability to record multiple deliveries of the same pack. This ensures sites retain the flexibility they need.
How to manage accidental duplicates - Instead of relying on system generated error messages, we recommend sites use the Family Delivery Report. This report allows coordinators to:
- check for unintentional duplicate entries
- verify delivery patterns across families
- ensure recorded accuracy without limiting legitimate delivery practices.
