Nation Gathering: Review format

Suggestion to fund coordinators to attend national/state-based events with HIPPY-specific add-on days (exc. line managers).

Thank you for the suggestion regarding the National Gathering and the idea of supporting Coordinators to attend national or state-based events with HIPPY specific add on days. We understand the intention to create meaningful development opportunities that focus directly on HIPPY practice.

At this stage there is no funding available to run a National Gathering or to fund travel for Coordinators to attend external events. Prioritising work and planning change carefully is essential so that we invest in areas that have the greatest impact on program quality and that are feasible within current resources.

We do acknowledge the value that comes from opportunities to connect, share practice and deepen understanding of the model are important and we can investigate alternative formats to create connections that are not necessarily travel based gatherings. We will continue to explore options that support Coordinator learning and connection including planned forums in 2026 that will focus on practical delivery, shared examples and real-world application of the model.

We will look at opportunities for low-cost state-based or regional connection activities that allow sites to participate more easily. Insights from the Our HIPPY, Our Community work will also be used to strengthen practice-based learning across the network.

Your suggestions are appreciated and contribute to the wider conversation about how we support Coordinators in a sustainable and effective way while maintaining fairness across the network.
