Bulk ordering system for basic resources (boxes, glue, string, etc.)

Modified on Mon, 1 Jun at 5:09 PM

We understand that purchasing basic resources such as boxes, glue, string and similar materials as individually (at the site level) can be time consuming and can create challenges for finance and administration at site level. Unfortunately, the conditions of our contractual arrangement with the Department of Social Services (DSS) mean that HIPPY Australia is not permitted to facilitate bulk ordering or centralised purchasing. DSS requires that we do not recommend or suggest preferred vendors or suppliers. These restrictions mean we are unable to organise or endorse any procurement arrangements on behalf of sites.

While HIPPY Australia cannot coordinate purchasing or recommend suppliers, we encourage sites to work together within their CoPs to increase their collective bargaining power.

CoPs can explore options such as pooled purchasing arrangements within their region, where sites choose their own vendors and negotiate locally.

Sites are encouraged to share general tips or approaches that have worked for them, without naming suppliers, so that others can benefit from collective experience. We will include this topic in future CoP agendas to support sites to learn from each other and develop workable local solutions.
